Moratorium on disconnections of electric service for nonpayment for Maui customers extended through July 2

Suspension of service disconnections for all Hawaiian Electric customers on Maui has been extended through at least July 2, 2024, in accordance with the extension of Gov. Josh Green’s emergency proclamation.

Hawaiian Electric has developed an online tool designed to facilitate the installation of electric vehicle charging stations by showing available capacity on the electric grid at the circuit level.

Employee-led workplace campaign results in over $46,000 raised for Hawaii Island United Way in 2023

A year-long workplace campaign led by Hawaiian Electric employees resulted in raising more than $46,000 for Hawaii Island United Way, the nonprofit working to advance the health, education and financial stability of the Hawaii community. Guided by the campaign theme Pilina, the Hawaiian meaning “to come together,” employees united with retirees and IBEW Local 1260 to amplify their fundraising efforts.

Hawaiian Electric has lifted its call for energy conservation on Hawaii Island. Customers may resume their normal use of electricity.

Utility work April 30 – May 2 to impact traffic on Dairy Road

To ensure reliable service, maintenance work at the base of two utility poles will impact area traffic along Dairy Road fronting the Maui Marketplace in Kahului on Tuesday, April 30, Wednesday, May 1, and Thursday, May 2, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No service interruptions are planned for this work.

Hawaiian Electric to conduct aerial line inspections

To improve system reliability, Hawaiian Electric will conduct quarterly aerial inspections of its major overhead transmission lines from Monday, April 29, to Friday, May 3.
